c is a city in Andhra Pradesh, India. In Telangana Region it is 4th populous city. This is major business centre. It is emerging as major educational hub. It is located on the banks of river Manair. Several kings ruled this place. First it was ruled by Satavahanas then Vishnukumdin followed by Vemulavada Chalukyas, Qutub Shahis Kakatiyas and Asaf Jahis.


What to see at Karimnagar:

Lower Manair Dam: Construction of this dam started in 1974 and ended in 1985. It was built across the river Manair. Height of this dam is 27meters.

Ujjwala Park: It is a popular picnic spot which was inaugurated in 2001. This place is located close to Manair River.

Rajeev Deer Park: Area covered by this park 30 acres. It is located near Lower Manair Dam. Deers are the major attractions of this park.


What to see around Karimnagar:

Elgandal Fort: It is located 10kms away from Karimnagar. Various dynasties ruled from this place namely Asaf Jahis, Mughals, Qutub Shahis, Kakatiya dynasties. Narasimha swamy temple and Nelakantha swamy Temple are located inside the fort.

Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple: It is located 34kms away from Karimnagar. Lord Shiva is worshipped here in the form of Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy. Inside the temple, a tomb of a Muslim saint is also located. It is the communal harmony. In the centre of mandapas of the temple, there is a statue of Lord Eshwara in a meditating posture.

Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple: It is located 37kms away from Karimnagar. It is believed that this was built by a cowherd about 300 years ago. Present statue was constructd by Krishna Rao Deshmukh around 160 years ago. It is a saying at this place that if woman worshipped to the Lord at this place for 40 days, she will be blessed with child. Near this temple major attractions are Bojjapotana Caves and Kondalaraya Caves.

Kothakonda: Ancient Fort is the major attraction of this place. It is located on the hill. Another attraction of this place is Veerabadra Swamy Temple. It is located in the Bheemadevarpalle Mandal of Karimnagar district. It is located 68kms away from Karimnagar.

Vemulawada: Major attraction of this place is Bhimeshwara Swamy Temple. Other temples of this place are Kasi Visweswara Temple, Kodanda Ramaswamy Temple, Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple. Dharma Gundam Pond is also popular at this place. It is located 52kms away from Karimnagar.
