Solang Valley is a side valley situated at the top of Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, India. Name is derived from the words Solang and Nullah. Solang means nearby villages and Nullah means water stream. From the town of Manali it is located 14kms away.   What to see at Solang Valley: This valley is well known for winter and summer sports. Solang is one of the best picnic spots in Himachal Pradesh. For the natural lovers also this is one of the best places. Visitors can enjoy glaciers and snow clad mountains. Lakes, snow-capped peaks, apply orchards and lush greenery attracting the tourist from India as well as from foreign countries.  Along with sports this valley also known for Snow Point. It has 300 meters ski lift. During the winter season, different courses will offer by Ski Agencies. These agencies actively work here only during the winter season.   During the summer season, snow melts here. These agencies provide equipment to the visitors to enjoy. Trekking lovers can enjoy this place. One of the ways to reach this place is through trekking.  Adventurous activities conducts here are paragliding, Zorbing, skating, Parachuting, Winter sports. During winter season Skiing activity takes place and in the summer season this activity will be replaced with Zorbing. Zorbing is a giant ball with room for 2 people which is rolled down a 200 meters hill.  Horse riding also conducts here. Ropeway was also introduced recently. Apart from these activities visitors can see the shrine of Lord Shiva on the top of the hill. Several bollywood movies shooted here. Every year during January – February months, National Senior Alpine Skiing Championship organises here.   What to see around Solang Valley: Naggar Castle: It was built by Raja of Kullu 600 years old. Now it was converted into heritage hotel. From this place visitors can have the best view of Naggar Valley. This complex also having houses of wooden Jagati Patt temple. It is located 30kms away from this valley. Rahala and Rozy waterfalls: These waterfalls are located on the way to Rohtang. It is located 19kms away from the valley.
